What to Do with Superman?

The clock keeps moving forward and Marvel Studios is in overdrive. DC has a great franchise with Batman, but their other big hero is still in Limbo, which begs the questions. What to do with Superman?
Should they stick with the Singer movie and build upon the mythology of the 1970s Superman movies or take them in a new direction like the Dark Knight films? Both are options that seem to be bouncing around the powers that be.

Option 2 seems like safest bet. Get another auteur with vision to take a stab at the Man of Steel. I certainly did not dislike Singer’s version. I just left the theater feeling wanting. I wanted something that built on the character. I wasn’t a big fan of the kid angle, but even that would have made for a better story. Clark/Superman trying to raise a Super child while saving the world is much mroe interesting then the lukewarm romance of the movie I had to sit through.
